Growing up in Southern Africa, Danny Steyn was afforded the opportunity of photographing wild animals from an early age. To make matters even more convenient for an introduction to professional wildlife photography, the family owned farms in Swaziland were converted into some of the continent's premier safari parks.

Terry Reilly, Danny's uncle, pioneered the wildlife conservation effort in Swaziland, with the Mlilwane Game Sanctuary being the first of many conservation parks that Terry would open. Swaziland's late king Sobhuza commissioned Terry to assist in the development of the first national wildlife sanctuary, the Hlane Royal National Park.

Terry has continued the conservation efforts at Hlane for the new King Mswati, and has developed his own premium park, the bushveld favorite Mkhaya Game Reserve which has proven to be the premier Swaziland wildlife safari destination.

A further significant influence occurred when Danny's Aunt Roma married famed wildlife photographer and cinematographer, Howard Kirk, whose documentary photography and cinematography has been seen by millions of people around the world. As a kid, hanging around Howard with all his cool photo gear, helped to instill a passion in Danny for professional wildlife photography at an early age.

Danny makes annual photo safaris to Africa, visiting the many game parks scattered around the continent, spending time getting close to the wildlife for those once in a lifetime images.

Danny sells his professional wildlife photography prints to select clients and sells his wildlife photos to stock agencies around the world.
